Within IKEA there are a wide variety of jobs which people can do. These range from communication and interior designers, logistics personnel, chefs, marketing, sales personnel, TQE (Technique Quality and Environment) developers to IT. Every role is a vital cog in the IKEA machine to keep everything running smoothly. Everyone helps each other no matter what their position is and this creates a good ethos between co-workers.

 

When applying for a job at IKEA they look at the person not the grades. On their website they say “Remember that a good cover letter says more about who you are and where you’re at than 100 diplomas”. They want someone who has the right attitude and shares IKEA´s values.

 

Making sure people have access to a good education is very important to IKEA, and this prompted the creation of the IKEA Foundation (which is supported by UNICEF and Save the Children). The foundation encourages parents and communities to send their children to school and can support them financially. Between 2009 and 2015 ten million children benefited from the support of the foundation.
